Rental agreement
ROAMMAX STARLINK MINI EQUIPMENT RENTAL AGREEMENT
This Equipment Rental Agreement ("Agreement") is made effective as of the date of booking by and between RoamMax (the "Owner") and the Renter (collectively referred to as the "Parties").
1. Rented Equipment
The Owner agrees to rent to the Renter one (1) Starlink Mini satellite internet kit, including the Starlink Mini dish/router assembly, power supply cables, protective carrying case, and any included accessories (collectively, the "Equipment").
2. Rental Period & Pricing Tiers
RoamMax operates on a Calendar Day Model. The day the Equipment is picked up and the day the Equipment is returned are each counted as full, billable rental days, regardless of the exact time of pickup or drop-off.
The rental rates are structured based on the total duration of the rental period:
| Rental Duration | Daily Rate (CAD) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 3 to 7 Days | $25.00 / day | Minimum 3-day booking required |
| 7 to 30 Days | $20.00 / day | Discount automatically applied |
| Greater than 30 Days | Custom | Submit a quote for long-term commercial rates |
Tier day ranges and rates may be updated by the Owner; the rates applied at booking are those in effect when the customer completes checkout.
3. Security Deposit & Payment
- Deposit Amount: A security deposit of $350.00 CAD is required at the time of booking.
- Authorization: The Renter authorizes the Owner to place a hold or charge on the provided credit card for this amount.
- Refund: The deposit will be fully refunded or released within seventy-two (72) hours of the Equipment's return, subject to an inspection showing no damage, missing items, or unpaid late fees.
4. Cancellation & Refund Policy
- Free Cancellation: The Renter may cancel the rental booking free of charge up to three (3) days (72 hours) prior to the scheduled rental start date. A full refund of any prepaid fees and the security deposit will be issued.
- Late Cancellation: Cancellations made less than 3 days prior to the rental start date will forfeit the base 3-day rental fee. The security deposit will be fully refunded.
5. Returns & Next-Morning Grace Period
The Equipment must be returned to the designated drop-off point before closing time on the final scheduled calendar day of the rental period (typically between 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM local time).
- Next-Morning Grace Period: Hauling a trailer back into town, unpacking, and highway traffic can make same-day returns difficult. If the Renter cannot return the Equipment before closing on their scheduled return date, RoamMax offers a complimentary Next-Morning Grace Period. The Renter may return the Equipment the following morning before 11:00 AM local time without incurring any additional day charges or late fees.
- Late Fee: If the Equipment is not returned by 11:00 AM on the morning following the scheduled return date, a late fee of $50.00 CAD per day will be automatically charged against the security deposit or the Renter's credit card on file until the Equipment is safely returned to the Owner.
6. Equipment Use, Care, and Service
- Unlimited Data: The rental includes unlimited data usage.
- Proper Use: The Renter agrees to operate the Equipment strictly in accordance with manufacturer guidelines. The Renter acknowledges that the Starlink Mini requires a clear, unobstructed view of the sky to function properly. The Owner is not responsible for poor performance caused by trees, buildings, weather, or geographic obstructions.
- No Tampering: The Renter shall not attempt to alter, reset, or modify the physical hardware or internal administration settings of the router/dish.
7. Damage, Loss, or Theft
The Renter assumes all risk of loss, damage, or theft of the Equipment from the time of pickup until it is safely returned to the Owner.
If the Equipment is damaged beyond normal wear-and-tear, lost, or stolen, the Renter agrees to forfeit the $350.00 CAD security deposit. If the cost of repair or replacement exceeds $350.00 CAD, the Renter authorizes the Owner to bill the remaining balance to the Renter's credit card.
8. Limitation of Liability
The Owner provides the Equipment "as is" and makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding its continuous uptime, network speeds, or satellite network availability. The Owner shall not be held liable for any incidental, indirect, or consequential damages (including lost profits or business interruption) resulting from the use or failure of the Equipment.
9. Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada.
